A few months ago, a woman was critically injured trying to cross Pulaski Highway in Elkton, Maryland. She was hit by a vehicle while doing what many of us do every day just trying to get from one side to the other. There were no crosswalks. No signs. Nothing to protect her.

That could’ve been me. That could’ve been you. I live near this highway. I cross it to reach places like McDonald’s and Starbucks. I walk because I have no choice and every time I step into that road, I wonder if today’s the day I don’t make it across.
That woman didn’t deserve what happened to her. And I’m not waiting for someone else to get hurt or worse.

That’s why I’m starting this petition.

I’m asking the Maryland State Highway Administration and Elkton officials to install a proper crosswalk with pedestrian signals on Pulaski Highway specifically in the area between McDonald’s and Starbucks, where people cross every single day with zero protection.

This isn’t just about inconvenience it’s about human life.
