Petition for a Public Drinking Water Fountain at Clare Park, Maidstone

We, the Clare Park community, request that Maidstone Borough Council install a public drinking water fountain and bottle-refill station at Clare Park on Tonbridge Road.

Clare Park is a well-used community park with tennis courts, a children’s play area, sports facilities, and open green space. Many residents, families, runners, dog walkers, and visitors spend extended periods in the park and would benefit from free access to drinking water.

Installing a drinking water fountain would:

• Help residents stay hydrated, especially during warmer weather.
• Encourage the use of reusable water bottles and reduce plastic waste.
• Improve facilities for children, families, sports users, and visitors.
• Support the council’s environmental and public health goals.

We ask Maidstone Borough Council to assess suitable locations within the park and consider installing a modern drinking-water refill station as part of future park improvements.
