In April 2025, I experienced a terrifying accident at the intersection of Woodbine Avenue and Ravenshoe Road in Georgina with my 2 month old baby in the car. Thankfully, we survived, but others haven't been so fortunate. Recently, a horrific collision occurred here, resulting in the tragic loss of a father's life, leaving behind his wife and their six-year-old daughter. These incidents are far too frequent, and it's time for urgent action to protect our community.

This intersection has become notoriously dangerous, with numerous accidents reported, causing fear and concern among local residents. Implementing a protected left turn light at this intersection is a proactive measure that can prevent these tragic left-turn collisions and, ultimately, save lives. 

To enhance traffic flow and reduce congestion, we also propose the addition of an extra left turn lane at all four corners, ensuring a smooth and steady flow of vehicles. By adopting these changes, we not only reduce the risk of accidents, but also enhance the safety and efficiency of our community roads.

This intersection is a known hazard, and it’s evident that change is essential to the safety of our community. Immediate action is needed to protect drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists alike. Let us come together to advocate for a safer Georgina.
