Just a brief update for you all on the petition and campaign. It has been a long and busy day at this end, with press interviews, meetings and telephone conversations with key parties, including our incredibly supportive parish councillors, the university and those supporting the campaign behind the scenes. Everyone is working towards a common goal of a safer crossing.

We have reached the unthinkable goal of 3650 and still the signatures are coming in by the second. Please continue to share the petition; if we reach 5000 signatures, then this threshold gives us the greatest chance of getting the issue debated formally, and securing the best result for our community and those using the crossing. What do you think, can we do it?

At some point we will need to provide a shared space for bringing together your views on possible solutions for a crossing, and I'm sure that will come before long, especially now we have the council's involvement. Until then, it's one step at a time.

We have been invited for an interview on BBC Radio Cornwall tomorrow at 9.10am, so have a listen if you can!

Thank you everyone for your ongoing support and encouragement.

For Ekaterina, and her family.
