Install a Free Little Library in Epperson Ranch II for Equal Access to Books and Empowering Opportunities

The Issue

As a mother of five children, a lover of books and education, and a strong advocate for community beautification and improvement, I am deeply concerned about the lack of resources and amenities available to our children in Epperson Ranch II. It is disheartening to see our kids growing up without access to backyard play spaces, parks, or playgrounds. However, there is one simple addition that can make a significant difference in their lives – installing a Free Little Library.

A Free Little Library is an outdoor book-sharing box where anyone can take or leave books at their convenience. These small libraries have been proven to foster literacy skills, promote reading habits among children and adults alike, and create stronger communities. By having one right here in our townhome community located in Epperson Ranch II, we can empower not only our neighborhood but also the entire Epperson community.

According to research conducted by the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), students who have access to books at home tend to perform better academically than those who don't. Additionally, studies by the American Academy of Pediatrics show that early exposure to reading has long-term positive effects on language development and cognitive skills.

By installing a Free Little Library in our community, we will provide equal opportunities for all children residing here. Regardless of their economic background or access limitations due to transportation issues or distance from public libraries, every child will have easy access to books right outside their doorstep.

Moreover, this initiative aligns perfectly with Epperson's vision as an inclusive community that values education and fosters personal growth. It will enhance the sense of belonging among residents while promoting lifelong learning experiences for both young readers and adults seeking knowledge.

The majority of funds required for this project have already been fully secured through a generous donation from a local businesses committed to supporting education and community development. We have received overwhelming support from our neighbors, who believe in the power of books to transform lives.

By signing this petition, you are expressing your support for installing a Free Little Library in Epperson Ranch II located on Blue Passing Loop. Also known as the "original" Lennar townhomes. Let's come together as a community and ensure that all the children of Epperson Ranch II have equal access to books and reading, empowering them with knowledge and imagination.

Together, we can make a lasting impact on our children's lives and create a stronger, more vibrant community. Sign now to show your support for this important initiative!
