I am a parent who daily walks my young children to the bus stop. Each day, I have encountered countless near-accidents at the intersection of Kellyfarm/Sora and Maberly (as of now, one pedestrian got hit and the next day a car collision). I have had to go to the extent of getting the bus stop relocated, so we don't have to cross the increasingly busy road. The neighborhood where our children play every day has recently been the site of a collision and a pedestrian accident. This situation has escalated immensely, and it's extremely concerning.

Our community is rapidly growing. With two new schools situated at either end of our street, the amount of pedestrian and vehicular traffic has drastically increased. Furthermore, the proximity of a park where children frequently run about necessitates additional caution in ensuring road safety.

The installation of a four-way stop sign at this intersection is imperative. It is a simple yet effective way of controlling traffic movement and ensuring that vehicles come to a complete stop before proceeding.  Intersections with stop signs we typically see fewer severe crashes than other intersections.

Let's make sure we protect our children and all our residents from any further, preventable accidents. It's not enough just to grow our community; we need to ensure our roads are safe as well.
