As a parent with two children attending St Matthews RC Primary School, located on Saffron Drive in Allerton, I am deeply concerned about the safety of our children as they navigate this busy road. Every day, I witness many speeding motorbikes and cars past the school, creating a hazardous environment for the many kids and their families who cross Saffron Drive.

This road is not just a busy thoroughfare, but a potential danger zone. Without a designated crossing, children are left vulnerable, increasing the risk of accidents or even more tragic consequences.

A dedicated pedestrian crossing would provide a safe passage for hundreds of kids and their families, ensuring that they can cross the road without fear or hesitation. Other communities have successfully implemented similar measures, drastically reducing accident rates. For example, a nearby city recently installed several pedestrian crossings near schools, leading to a 40% reduction in traffic-related incidents.
