Instagram currently enforces a stigmatizing policy that deletes photos of people living their lives happy with healed self harm scars. Mental health struggles are real and instead of protecting the community, Instagram is shaming those who have overcome mental illness. They are sending a message that one should be ashamed of their past and their body.

We are simply asking Instagram to educate themselves and stop this discriminatory practice. We do not have issue with the censoring of blatantly triggering material. The issue is with the interference in someone else's life, the stigma it contributes to, and the unhealthy message it sends.
