Instagram is the worst social media for health and mental wellbeing. It exposes young people to many unrealistic expectations of others; creating feelings of inadequacy and insecurity. I admittedly use Instagram daily, and have noticed my desire to measure success and satisfaction through my engagement in likes. 

By hiding the number of likes, it limits the addictive feeling of checking and worse, comparing with other users. It would be the first step of solving the greater problem and aiding to reduce the anxiety caused through social media. Ultimately, there wouldn't be the need to constantly compare to the lives of influences but to rather be inspired - a different image to that of envy. I have began captioning my journey honestly through Instagram as the content I create isn't always as perfect as it seems. If you have been induced by the culture and feels the need to end, share the petition with your friends and we can make a change together.

Understandably this is NOT the only issue. The explore page is a prime example for idiolized images and most detremental to the perception of people. This would be a step in the right direction.
