ZBA VOTES IN FAVOR OF VARIANCE!! However...

Apr 2, 2016 — UPDATE: The Variance has now been approved at 3 different meetings (!!) the JP Zoning Board, the Neighborhood Council, and the ZBA at the meeting at ISD Thursday 3.24.16. During this “community” process, while there was tremendous community support (for which I am deeply grateful) I have also heard many outright fabrications from a few people who have NEVER had a personal conversation with me. Awful things said about my intentions, my person, and things that I (supposedly) think or intended. Horrid things that are untrue. Generally, once an application for a Variance has gone through the “community process” and been approved by all 3 boards, the permit is issued and life goes on. Sometimes though, an “aggrieved abutter” will take it to Court and appeal the ZBA decision. It has come to my attention that starting 2 days after the ZBA ruling, there are people out canvassing my neighbors, saying who-knows-what about me, and trying to get people to sign a petition against the Variance - even after all of this. I am very frightened. Scared in our neighborhood, and afraid in my home. The person who has spear-headed all of this is not considered an “abutter with standing” but this person has spoken many untruths about me personally, and about the situation, at all 3 of the meetings. While there is no way to stop someone from launching an appeal, if they realize that under these circumstances, most of my neighbors feel okay about my shed, they may be less likely to do it. An appeal will keep this situation going for a very long time. I do not want this for any of us. Please help me to keep and use my beautiful little shed. I’m happy to speak with anyone who wants more details or to discuss any of this. The last thing I have ever wanted was to feel unwanted in my home, on the streets where I live, or like I have inadvertently upset any of my neighbors.
