Our University's Vice Chancellor, Professor James Tooley, deeply cares about our institution, has been unjustly and publicly suspended without due process contrary to the University's Charter and Statutes. This has not only violated the regulations but also the ethics that our esteemed University upholds. 

The sudden and public suspension has generated ripples across the campus, affecting students, faculty, alumni and every individual associated with the university. The Vice Chancellor's passion for his role has always been clear through his dedication to the institution and nurturing of its academic excellence. This adds to the unfairness of his sudden and unexplained suspension.

We believe in the principles of due process and fairness in all actions, values that are at the core of our academic community. Unfortunately, these principles were blatantly ignored in the action taken against our Vice Chancellor. This unpreceded suspension raises concerns and questions about the equity and fairness of the process, such that an independent inquiry agreed by both the University and the Vice Chancellor will be required to thoroughly test the allegations.

Therefore, we urge the University Council to reassess the unilateral decision of the chair of council and to initiate an immediate recall of the Vice Chancellor. We demand transparency and adherence to due process in all actions henceforth.
