Close to me and those I care about, this issue is deeply personal. I have friends who identify as Black, Hispanic, or part of the LGBTQ+ community, who are witnessing their hard-earned rights decimated under Trump's second administration. Simultaneously, as a woman in America, I am starting to feel threatened that my rights might be revoked due to his reckless decisions.

His heavy-handed attempts to unravel generations of progressive policy making have been damaging, and it's time we take a stand. A range of social, economic, environmental, and political decisions made under his administration are posing a tangible threat to diverse communities and individuals, myself included. In accordance with numerous allegations, including his encouragement of white supremacy (as reported by CNN) contribute to escalating racial tensions; his call for a ban on trans people in the military (BBC investigation) threatens the LGBTQ+ community; and his rollback of Obama-era protections for women's health issues gears towards the undermining of women's rights.

This petition isn't just about removing Trump from office. It's about correcting a trajectory that disrespects the diverse fabric of American society. It's about protecting rights, preserving peace, and promoting inclusivity.

Together, we call upon our elected officials to start impeachment proceedings against Trump and to systematically reverse detrimental decisions stemming from his authority.
