Initiate Clinical Trials for IVIG for MOGAD

The Issue

WE WANT CLINICAL TRIALS FOR IVIG!

Help us get treatment!

I am a patient living MOGAD. There are no FDA Approved treatments for this disease.

Many of us rely on immunoglobulins (IVIG) for both acute and long-term care. However, insurance companies often deny coverage for this treatment as it is considered "off label" use for MOGAD.

This means that MOGAD patients are frequently not approved under health insurance coverage. We are also often ineligible for copay assistance, adding financial stress to our already challenging health situation.

Despite its prevalence and severity, there is still no officially FDA recognized treatment.

We believe that initiating clinical trials using IVIG to treat MOGAD could provide the evidence needed to change this situation.

Such trials would not only help validate the effectiveness of IVIG therapy but also pave the way towards its recognition as a standard treatment option by insurance companies.

The time has come to prioritize research into treatments like IVIG that have shown promise in managing MOGAD symptoms but lack official recognition due to insufficient clinical trial data. By signing this petition, you are supporting our plea to initiate these crucial clinical trials which could significantly improve quality of life for those living with MOGAD.

This petition will be submitted to pharmaceutical companies who manufacture IVIG, as well as research hospitals across the US.

MOGAD causes: Loss or blurring of vision in one or both eyes. Loss of color vision. Weakness, numbness or loss of sensations. Paralysis.
Loss of bowel or bladder control or difficulty emptying the bladder.
Spasticity (increased muscle tone or stiffness in the arms or legs).
Shooting pain or tingling in the neck, back or abdomen.
ADEM- acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM).
AE- Autoimmune encephalitis.
Seizures.

I can not continue to simply wait. Help me fight to get a clinical trial started for FDA approval for IVIG for MOGAD.
