Subject: Petition for Unity of the Ethiopians in Western Australia to call a General Meeting for Election

We, the undersigned members of the Ethiopian community in Western Australia, write this petition to express our strong desire for unity and to call for a general meeting to conduct elections of new association leaders. 

Unity of Ethiopians in WA was established in early 1990’s. It has done some unforgettable events. These events have benefited the Ethiopian community in particular and the larger community in general. 

Recently the association, if it exists, has completely stopped trying to organize events, at list once a year, to help Ethiopians and the community at large to come together and celebrate few of our national holidays. As Ethiopian Australians, we are proud of our rich cultural heritage and diverse backgrounds. We need to keep trying to pass on our heritage to our children and make them proud of their motherland.

We kindly request your support by signing this petition to call a general meeting for elections for new leaders and save our association from being cancelled by the government body that is in charge of incorporated associations. The constitution of the association requests to sign a petition to remove the sitting leadership if negligent and not compliant with the law of incorporated association.
