IS THIS THE LAST STRAW LEADING TO JOE MAIMONE'S DEPARTURE?

The Board has been functioning in violation of multiple Bylaws and policies for many years. By hiding the work of the various Committees, they have been in effect functioning in a closed session manner. No one knows who is on these Committees, where they meet, or when. Only until recently did they announce 3 Committee meetings. There are no minutes available to the public.

Why was Joe Maimone removed from the Curriculum Committee for the 2017-2018 school year? He has ALWAYS been involved with this as Headmaster.

Ray Maxwell made it clear at the September 4th Board Meeting that the Board’s vision was different from Joe Maimone’s. What draws people to TJCA? The Board’s vision for the school or Joe Maimone’s?

After stripping Joe Maimone of his authority as Headmaster and humiliating him by relegating his office to a repurposed closet, they then turned over the Curriculum changes to Gary Blake, a career traditional education administrator.

Then on May 11, 2018, the Executive Committee meets to discuss the mutiny that had ensued at the school. Their next step was to “discipline” the guilty party.

On May 15th, Ray Maxwell, Gary Blake and Joe Maimone were seen early in the morning at Village Coffee. The observer noted a terse atmosphere as this was not friends obviously having coffee together.
On May 17th, the staff was notified that Gary Blake turned in his resignation.

What happened between the 11th and 17th? Emails between TJ staff are public record (so are other forms of communication). Emails between these individuals have been requested but have not been supplied (they are demanding $1000 upfront).

In my opinion, it was time to ratchet up the pressure to have a case against Joe Maimone. If the Board could get Gary Blake to say that Joe Maimone did all kinds of things wrong, then they would have more evidence. Did Gary Blake say no? Realize he was a pawn? I don’t know. Just my thoughts on this based on the various clues in the records.

(YES all Committee meetings of the Board are OPEN, even Personnel, executive , etc. But the Board has been operating in Closed Session fashion by not letting anyone know when and where these committees are. And no minutes to be found anywhere!)
