Demand Accountability: Why Has Parnell McNamara Not Been Indicted?

We, the undersigned, are demanding answers and action from the Texas Rangers and the Ellis County District Attorney’s Office as the designated special prosecutor in the criminal investigation of McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara.

Despite mounting evidence, public outcry, and serious allegations of misconduct, corruption, and abuse of office, no indictment has been issued. This is not just a failure of law enforcement — it’s a betrayal of public trust.

Parnell McNamara has been accused of:

Abusing county resources for personal benefit, including using deputies for private labor on taxpayer time
Turning a blind eye to misconduct within his department, including favoritism, nepotism, and cronyism
Refusing to recuse himself in conflicts involving close political allies and family associates under investigation
Using his office for personal and political gain, including retaliating against whistleblowers and protecting corrupt actors
The people of McLennan County and the state of Texas deserve better. We deserve law enforcement leaders who are held to the same legal standards as everyone else. No badge should grant immunity from prosecution.

We want:

A public update from the Texas Rangers on the status of their investigation
Immediate explanation from the Ellis County District Attorney on the delay or refusal to present the case to a grand jury
Transparency, accountability, and action — not political favors and cover-ups
This case is a litmus test for whether justice in Texas still applies to the powerful — or only to the powerless.

We will not sit back while justice is delayed, denied, or deliberately ignored.

Sign this petition to demand that the Texas Rangers and Ellis County DA do their jobs. Parnell McNamara broke the law — indict him like anyone else.
