The dining situation at IU Bloomington has been awful this year.

•There is constantly a shortage of food in the dining halls and C stores (particularly in McNutt)

• It takes hours for grubhub orders to be filled

• The dining locations are frequently closed or otherwise have bizarre hours which make it difficult to get food when hungry

• There have been complaints of the food served in the dining halls making people ill.

IU students pay thousands of dollars a year for our meal plans, only for us to go hungry. That is unacceptable.

What we request is that action is taken to:

• Fill the staffing shortage (even if it means increasing pay for hourly workers, as $10.40 an hour is no longer a competitive wage)

• Ensure that the dining halls and C-stores have a sufficient amount of food to feed the student body

• Proper food training and sourcing of ingredients is used to ensure food safety 

• Reopen Gresham dining hall, as McNutt is incapable of satisfying the needs of the student body 

If none of these highly reasonable requests are able to be made, we request a refund of our meal plans, as it would be excedingly clear that IU is unable to provide the promised goods and services.
