Friends,
For the first time since the 13th, we might fall short of 2000 signatures. That's okay: we are at 101,833 as I am writing this.
I think calling the governor's office is keeping the pressure on for getting this pardoned signed. But Pence has not signed it for 2.5 years, and he might never do it unless politics force him to do it. Let's consider the possibility that he will not do it.
For a new strategy, let's call upon the candidates to replace Pence to pledge to sign a pardon for Keith Cooper. Eric Holcomb is running as the Republican candidate. His Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/HolcombForIndiana/. I do not have an email address for him; however, here is an Indiana GOP page with email addresses for a number of people who can pass on a message for a pardon to Eric Holcomb: http://indiana.gop/staff-directory.
John Gregg is running as the Democratic candidate. His Facebook page is here: https://www.facebook.com/GreggForGovernor/. You can contact Mr. Gregg's campaign by email using the "General Questions about the campaign" link on this page: http://www.greggforgovernor.com/contact/.
One other thing: This Friday at 5 p.m. EST, Mike Pence will be speaking at the opening of a Trump campaign headquarters in Carmel, Indiana. Are there enough people nearby who could attend that opening with signs for pardoning Keith Cooper?
Keep posting the links on Facebook and Twitter. Keep calling the office of the governor (especially as he will be in town): 317-232-4567.
And thank you for supporting this petition.
