Dear Friends,

I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out to share an important issue close to my heart and to ask for your support in driving meaningful change.

As someone who travels frequently, I’ve faced significant challenges due to the lack of NDIS funding for professional support workers’ travel-related expenses. Currently, the NDIS does not cover the costs of support workers’ flights, accommodation, or meals when traveling with participants. This has left me—and many others like me—relying on family members to step in and fill the gap, which is both unfair and unsustainable.

Travel is not just a luxury; it’s a fundamental part of life for many of us, whether for work, education, family, or personal growth. The current system creates unnecessary barriers, limiting the independence and opportunities of NDIS participants.

That’s why I’ve started a petition to call on the NDIS to fund support workers’ travel expenses and ensure fair compensation for their time while traveling. This change is essential to create a more inclusive, equitable system that supports the dignity and independence of all participants.

I need your help to make this happen. Here’s how you can support:

 1. Sign the Petition: Add your name to show your support for this change. Here’s the link: https://www.change.org/FundTravelSupport
 2. Share Widely: Spread the word to your friends, family, and networks. Every voice matters, and together we can make a real difference.
 3. Share Your Stories: If this issue resonates with you or someone you know, I’d love to hear your experiences and include them in our advocacy.

Let’s stand together to ensure everyone has the opportunity to live, work, and travel without barriers. Your support means the world to me, and I’m so grateful to have you by my side in this journey.

Thank you for helping to make a better future for all.

Warm regards,
Jerusha
