My name is Paul. When I was just 10 years old, I fell prey to a so-called 'doctor', Nigel Clayton, now a convicted criminal. What I, and many others suffered under the hand of this man, was far more than childhoods brutally stolen. He was guilty of 4 counts including rape against me. Child sexual abuse in the UK is a continuing crisis. The perpetrators produce, possess, and distribute images of their horrifying acts, a gross violation of the innocent victims. The penalty for such heinous, category A offenses, which includes sexual abuse penetration, currently lie between 1-3 years, with a statutory maximum of 5 years. The same sentence guidelines would be followed for sexual abuse of an animal.
Production and distribution of child rape imagery has a statutory maximum sentence of 10 years. 

This is a clear imbalance of justice, an ample proof of how the system isn't strict enough just yet.

This shocking reality is a dismissive response to the trauma that we, the victims, have to carry lifelong. Stronger sentencing could act as a deterrent, reducing the rate of this abhorrent crime and protecting the vulnerable.

We need your support. Neither I, nor any innocent child should suffer the way we have. We urge lawmakers to reform the laws surrounding possession, production, and distribution of child sexual abuse imagery. We seek an increase in the sentences associated with such heinous acts.
