I spent four years of my life in foster care. Four long, challenging years that shaped me into the person I am today. But imagine if those four years were your entire childhood, your whole life. This is the reality for many children across our nation who are placed into foster care system.

The U.S Department of Health and Human Services reports that over 400,000 children are currently in foster care (AFCARS Report, 2020). These children often lack access to essential resources such as consistent education, mental health services, and stable housing.

We need to ensure these young individuals receive adequate support during their time in foster care. We must increase funding for programs aimed at providing educational support, mental health services and other necessary resources to these children who have already faced so much adversity.
