I am a resident of Ashton Vale, Bristol, UK, and like many others in my community, I have been a victim of theft. On three separate occasions, my car was broken into during the night by groups of boys. This is not an isolated incident; cars throughout our neighbourhood have been targeted. Valuable items such as jackets, money and cameras have been stolen from us.

When we called 999 for help we were told it wasn't an emergency and they wouldn't be arriving. Our calls to 101 resulted in long waiting times with no resolution at the end. The thieves continue their activities undeterred because they use balaclavas to hide their identities.

This is why we are calling for increased police patrols around our area during night hours to deter these criminal activities. We also propose the establishment of a volunteer community watch group that can assist in maintaining security within our neighbourhood.

According to data from Avon and Somerset Constabulary's Crime Map (source), there has been a significant increase in vehicle-related crimes over the past year within Ashton Vale. This highlights the urgent need for action.
