Increase film and TV casting opportunities and agencies in smaller states (cities)
The Issue
Ever since I was 5 to 7 years old, I've dreamed of being an actress on a movie or TV show. Now that I'm in 7th grade, that dream feels out of reach because of where I live—Kansas, a landlocked state often overlooked in the entertainment industry. Other small or lesser-known states face similar challenges. Although yes we have some agencies we fear a lot of them are a scam. They all also asking for smaller roles in smaller films, however I'm talking bigger.
The majority of acting auditions and agency opportunities are concentrated in big cities like Los Angeles and New York. Smaller states like Kansas find it near-impossible to connect with quality agencies or to attend important auditions. This lack of opportunities disproportionately affects women and other minorities who are already underrepresented in the industry.
Yet, it is easier than ever to break into film and TV today, thanks to technology and changing media landscapes. A broader distribution of casting calls and agency representation could make a huge difference in diversifying the industry and allowing fresh talent to thrive from all corners of the country.
This petition calls on casting agencies and the entertainment industry at large to expand their reach domestically by setting up initial auditions and agency branches in states like Kansas. Companies could hold open casting calls or workshops to identify rising stars in lesser-known areas. This move wouldn't just help aspiring actors; it would enrich the entire industry by introducing diverse perspectives and fresh talent.
Sign this petition to help us bring more acting opportunities to Kansas and other lesser-known states, paving the way for broader representation and inclusion in the arts.
Also I know it has not been me who has been dreaming of being in some Stranger Things spinoffs. I have daydreamed nonstop about it, (The Creels if that is ever gonna be a real thing) and I think it would be cool for that to happen but it's hard to audition for stuff like that when you live far away. I'm going to also write fan fics about it because if it did happen just because I want to. It just would make me so happy if my dreams would come true and be along side the cast members of Stranger Things. It's not every day you get to work with your idols you see on screen. Dreaming to meet and work with them. Here are some people I would love to work with (Spinoffs, real shows whatever!)
Millie Bongiovi (Millie Bobby Brown), Maya Hawk, Joe Keery, Nell Fisher, Jamie Bower, Natalia Dyer, Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, Jake Connelly, and Sadie Sink.
I hope that I can work with really any of them! Thank you for your support!
