As a passionate cricket player residing in Burlington, I have firsthand experience of the lack of cricket facilities in our city. My team and I are often left scrambling for suitable places to practice and play. This is not just our story but a common struggle for all cricket enthusiasts here.

Burlington is home to a diverse population with a significant number of residents who are fans of this sport. Yet, there are no dedicated indoor or outdoor fields with practice nets for us to use. This lack of infrastructure hinders the growth and development of cricket in our community.

In Canada, interest in cricket has grown substantially over the years. According to Cricket Canada, there has been an increase by 75% in participation rates over the last decade (Cricket Canada). Despite this growing interest nationwide, Burlington's local facilities have not kept pace.

We believe that it's time for change! We call upon local authorities to recognize this need and allocate resources towards developing more indoor and outdoor cricket facilities complete with practice nets within Burlington. By doing so, they would be promoting sportsmanship and inclusivity while catering to the interests of their diverse populace.
