I am an AP student preparing for the 2025 exams. This year, many exams are switching to a hybrid model and we have been informed that College Board plans not to provide a paper copy of formula sheets. Instead, it will be on the digital platform, requiring us to switch back and forth between the test questions and the formula sheet on the same screen. This significantly complicates our testing procedure.

Considering the rigorous nature of most AP Exams and the already tight time restraints, this move unnecessarily increases the challenge of the exam. A paper copy of the formula sheet is instrumental in helping us work efficiently without the added stress of toggling between screens. The switch to a digital formula sheet might seem insignificant to some, but it poses a real impediment to our performance on the exam.

This petition is a request for College Board to reconsider this decision in light of the additional pressure it puts on students. College Board should provide a paper copy of the AP Formula Sheets during the 2025 AP Exams—and all future exams—to truly assess students' understanding of the material, not their digital proficiency.
