I am thrilled to share the news that Oklahoma HB1658 has now passed through the House by the work of Representative Eric Roberts and is moving onto the Senate to be championed by Senator Julie Daniels. I encourage you to reach out to Senator Julie Daniels to share your interest over the measure and show your support. You can find her contact information here.

Great things take time. Each law is examined carefully and discussed to great lengths to promote growth within our state, though perfect clarity is occasionally elusive or tedious in achievement and patience is virtue. When we also voice our concerns, it helps guide our governing bodies to correct any errors and promotes continuity of progress.

I still stand by my opinion that HB2998 was not meant to be intentionally hurtful and only aimed to improve safety measures within our state, which it does, but it also illuminated a once “gray area” that was not originally noticed and needed more oversight. While the effects of HB2998 are not so sweet for some of us, it is part of the process of improvement and has essentially opened the door for HB1658 to come in and help bolster safety and clarity. I am very grateful for our legislators and I look forward to watching HB1658’s movement through the Senate.

Yours Truly,

Natalie
