Include Industry Discounts for ALL Professional Makeup Artists at Mecca

Include Industry Discounts for ALL Professional Makeup Artists at Mecca
The issue
Throughout my career as a professional makeup artist, I have encountered a pressing issue — consistent denial of industry discounts to professionals like myself at Mecca because I am a bridal makeup artist, not in TV and Fashion. I am not alone in this experience. Countless other makeup artists have also been denied these discounts, even as we observe influencers receiving them with relative ease, we want to offer industry discounts to makeup artist across all sectors and not just TV and fashion. Given Bridal makeup artists not only purchase makeup at full price for their kits. They also recommend products to their bridal parties. Artists constantly promote products stocked at Mecca yet no support
We are proud professionals invested deeply in our craft. Our kits often cost a small fortune, frequently requiring out-of-pocket expenses for updates and replacements. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for makeup artists in May 2019 was $34,090. Often, a significant chunk of this wage is directed towards maintaining and replenishing our kits.
Meanwhile, Mecca frequently offers PR and discounts to influencers, many of whom use these resources as a means of promotion rather than a professional necessity. This practice grossly undermines professional bridal makeup artists who need it most as not ALL have met the Mecca requirements
This petition calls upon Mecca to recognize our contribution to the beauty industry. By offering us industry discounts, Mecca not only ensures our professional sustainability but also equips us to further enrich the ever-evolving world of makeup.
By signing this petition, you are making a stand for fairness and respect for all professionals. Let the voices of professional makeup artists be heard for the sustainable inclusion within the industry. Your signature helps us to send a clear message to Mecca: makeup artists are vital to the industry and deserve recognition. We urge you to sign the petition.
