Hello. If you haven’t already, please complete the latest Service AB condo survey – due this Tuesday, July 31, 2018. While we strongly disagree with the Omnibus approach Service Alberta used in the survey design, we also want you to fill it out. Respond to the questions with a (1) or a (2) as then you will have opportunity to express your dissatisfaction in the pop-up box, if in fact, you are troubled by what we see as a manipulative, misleading, and deceitful survey. Here’s the link: https://extranet.gov.ab.ca/opinio6/s?s=40491 The survey will only enable Service Alberta to say: “we consulted with Albertans”. It will not provide them with credible and reliable information. To group a number of different topics together and then ask respondents for only ONE response to address all of the different topics is deceiving. Also troubling is the fact the survey and Regulations were released at the beginning of July when many leave on holidays. Team that with the fact that we have not been able to locate a Media Release on the availability of these documents and that reinforces the trickery and slipperiness of the entire condo revision process. If you agree with our ideas, please document your support in a letter to all those listed on the CONTACT page in that same area. Time is tight. We need to let Service Alberta know this proposed legislation needs reframing and it cannot be proclaimed “as is”. If it is rammed through the NDP system in order to get it behind them before the next election, expect your condo fees to rise, condo owner bullying, shunning, and harassment to deepen, community conflict to surge, and questionable condo board behaviours and lack of openness and transparency to increase.
