Based on today’s developments I have every expectation that the safety work at El Campo will now proceed. The effort to meet the goals expressed by our recently formed working group, which now includes Vintage Wine Estates, parent company of Laetitia, will continue but separate from those safety improvements. This is fantastic news.

Our working groups ongoing goals still include an overpass in 5 years, fairer access consideration for Laetitia, right turn acceleration lane at El Campo, consideration of stop lights and reduced speeds in this section of 101 until full conversion to a freeway is accomplished.

Vintage Wines Estates is stepping forward and being the responsible community partner they have said they want to be and we are grateful for their partnership with us in putting public safety before any other interests.

When visiting Laetitia Winery, (or any of the other Vintage Wine Estate Wineries), which we now actively encourage, make sure to thank them for stepping up and working with us to make US 101 safer.
