Tonight I just finished dinner with the CEO of Vintage Wine Estates (VWE), Pat Roney, leadership from local homeowners in the El Campo area and Jadon Smith, husband of Suzie Smith who was hurt at El Campo right before our Jordan. My original sense that VWE are good people and want to do the right thing I still believe to be true. We have formed a working group with them and the local homeowners and developed a consensus around shared goals that we are going to seek Caltrans’ cooperation on over the next few days. If we can obtain Caltrans cooperation I believe the litigation can be resolved quickly and the safety changes at El Campo can proceed. Everyone was in agreement, safety now at El Campo but with some accommodations for Laetitias entrance. Also a majority agreed that an overpass in this area should be prioritized by exploring a joint Caltrans, County and private commitment to cost sharing with some future development fees to be determined on future beneficiaries of the overpass. I left feeling optimistic that with Caltrans partnership with our newly formed working group we are going to get this done. Thank you everyone for being so supportive as we have faced each challenge, as once again your support was what made the difference.

Finally, I would ask that we put a hold for the next few days on any other protests online or otherwise against Vintage to give this new working group a chance to be successful.

Tonight once again I think we made Jordan proud. We love you Jordan.
