Improving Free Water Access in RTPM-DSHS

Improving Free Water Access in RTPM-DSHS
The Issue
We, the students of Ramon Teves Pastor Memorial - Dumaguete Science High School, are calling for action to improve access to safe drinking water for students. This was a previously maintained service that allowed people to drink water from fountains. However, this was changed two years ago when drinkable water was suddenly cut off from fountains to this day.
For months, students and teachers noticed that most of the school's water requires payment rather than being free to all. This leads to issues like:
* Dehydration among students and faculty.
* Inability to pay for needed hydration for those who are short on money.
* Difficulty staying hydrated in hot weather.
We believe that every student has the right to free water on their campus, not wasting any money that would be needed for other school or personal purposes. This is one simple, small step that would ensure proper comfort among students, as well as reduce the risk of any heat-related accidents, and it would make the school more budget-friendly among students and faculty.
We respectfully request that the school:
- Provides easy access to drinkable water.
- Ensures safe drinking water.
- Properly maintains water drinking stations.
A budget-friendly and well-hydrated school benefits all students and faculty. Free water equals more straightforward thinking, fights off heat stroke, and improves learning as well as the comfort of all. This is a needed change for more effective and mentally aware students in their studies.
By signing this petition, you are assisting us in our path to a healthier and well-hydrated school campus for all. Together, this change will be possible and would help everyone.
