Apple first released emojis on November 21, 2008. Since then their emoji count has reached a staggering 3,664. Out of these, only three have ginger characters. The limited three that are gingers, all only have one neutral resting face. It is truly frustrating to say Apple is inclusive when they are missing a big portion of their consumers. There are no options for ginger brides, ginger career people, ginger graduates, ginger babies, or just expressive ginger faces at all. People may say redheads only make up less than 2% of the world's population, therefore are not as necessary to include. But if there are over 7.9 billion people in the world, this means that there are 158 million redheads that are awaiting their proper representation in Apple. When face emojis have blonde, brown, and black hair, it is only reasonable for a redhead option as well. Apple included every other natural hair color besides red in their "fun" career and expressive people emojis. Even in the curly haired emoji option, redheads are left out. It has been 15 years since emojis came out. How much longer must we wait for such a reasonable demand?
