I am writing this petition with a heavy heart and a firm belief in positive change. My best friend was riding his bike home when tragedy struck. A horse, wandering lost and afraid, strayed onto the road. The collision was fatal; my friend died instantly. To my utter dismay, this is not a rare occurrence in India. Lives - both human and animal - are lost needlessly every day due to this grave issue.

Street animals such as dogs, cows, and horses are left to fend for themselves amidst growing urban landscapes and treacherous roads, often falling victim to harsh weather, hunger, and vehicular accidents. Despite numerous complaints to Mr. Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and various NGOs, I have received no response or action. The shelters and contact lines often remain unreachable, and the systemic neglect continues.

According to a report by Animal Welfare India, there are over 35 million stray animals in India. This overwhelming number illustrates the urgency of the situation. These animals deserve protection, care, and a safe environment to live in harmony with humans.

We propose the following solutions to address this crisis:
1. Strengthening and enforcing animal welfare laws to ensure that those responsible for cruelty and neglect are held accountable.
2. Establishing more animal shelters with adequate funding, resources, and staff to care for street animals.
3. Implementing widespread spay and neuter programs to control the stray population humanely.
4. Increasing public awareness and educational campaigns about animal safety and the importance of responsible ownership.
5. Encouraging community involvement and partnerships with NGOs to monitor and protect street animals.

I urge the authorities and the government to take immediate steps towards these actionable solutions to ensure the safety and welfare of street animals and prevent further tragedies. Your signature can make a difference and bring much-needed attention and change to this critical issue.
