Again, because of the lawsuit I can't say much, but please take a moment to read the latest article on the Seattle Times (link below). I've also read the comments. I know that some people on there only comment to rattle cages (pun not intended), but there are those comments that just blow my mind & not in a good way.
I'd like to first say that I am happy to see more & more people advocating for improved animal welfare. I admire & respect people who embrace change, evolving in the way they think, changing their views as they learn, realizing & minimizing their actions that may be causing harm to others, including non-human beings. These people are brave because of their empathy toward other beings & because change is NOT easy.
That being said, there are also people who fear change, although they may not admit it. They try to legitimize their views & behavior toward non-human beings, with nonsensical logic. Then there's the "humans are more important than animals" view, rather than realizing how we are ALL equally important on this planet. No ONE, human or non-human should be treated cruelly. Every ONE, human & non-human, should be respected.
If you decide to take in an animal under your care, then that being should be treated properly. For those who feel Olympic Game Farm is enough or the best place for animals that they think would've been killed otherwise, answer this simple question, would you place yourself or a loved one in that environment?
Every living being deserves freedom & respect. Some commentors argue that dying from disease or being preyed upon in the wild is worse than living in a small enclosure & being showcased like a freak show, fed junk food, etc. I find this so-called logic to be insanely ridiculous! With that "logic", we humans should then live in that same small enclosure & lifestyle, not be free to roam around the streets with others because cars may hit us, or we may contract a disease because of the germs spread around by us or someone may attack us, etc. The value of living free outweighs the risks for both humans & animals.
This petition & my personal voice for the voiceless is to end the cruelty non-human beings have endured by us, all their lives. It's to end animal slavery & raise awareness that ALL living beings deserve, at the very least, respect. It's time for change!
Will you dare to be different? Change begins with YOU. Stop supporting animal cruelty & slavery. Be their voice. Take action & teach your friends, family & neighbors to take the challenge of embracing change.
Thank you all for your continued support & raising awareness! Let's keep being loud for the animals of Olympic Game Farm!
