Improve the state of the local gym Pools in the park , in Richmond upon Thames.

The Issue

Dear Pools in the Park Management,

As members of the local community, we are concerned about the state of the gym facilities at Pools in the Park in Richmond upon Thames. We believe that there is significant room for improvement and that action must be taken to address these issues.

Firstly, we have noticed that many of the gym machines are outdated and not properly maintained. This can lead to safety concerns for users and may discourage people from using them altogether. According to a recent survey by Fitness Equipment Market Research, 51% of gym-goers said they would switch gyms if their current one had outdated equipment.

Secondly, we have observed that there is often a lack of staff available to assist with equipment use or answer questions. This can be frustrating for members who require assistance or guidance on how to use certain machines safely and effectively.

Thirdly, we have noticed that cleanliness standards could be improved. Especially in the case of the sauna & pools. In a study conducted by FitRated, it was found that free weights at gyms contain an average of 362 times more bacteria than a toilet seat. There have been incidents of people conducting infections from the use of the pools. Proper cleaning protocols must be put in place to ensure member safety and prevent the spread of germs.

Last but not least, the sauna, steam & jacuzzi facilities are never available although the monthly prices have gone up and the facilities are been advertised upon signing up.

We believe these issues can be addressed through increased investment in new equipment, hiring additional staff members, and implementing stricter cleaning protocols.

We urge Pools in the Park management to take action on these concerns as soon as possible so that our local community can enjoy safe and effective workout facilities.

Thank you for your attention
