Happy Wednesday, team! I’m pretty pumped to share this update with you: ButcherBox has officially launched a three-year partnership with the Chef Ann Foundation, which includes a $150,000 investment in its work to improve the quality of school meals. Specifically, ButcherBox is funding a project that will help schools procure healthier ingredients, including organic proteins, fruits, and vegetables.
Why? Because while we're ecstatic about this petition’s progress (👋 hello to all 26,000 of you!) and have been making traction with our open letter to USDA, we also know that change doesn’t happen overnight. Especially when it comes to federal policy.
So while ButcherBox's work continues, we asked ourselves: “What more can we do right now?” The answer we came up with: Support the folks who are on-the-ground, doing the work to improve the quality of school meals as we speak.
Enter: The Chef Ann Foundation! 🍎
This incredible organization empowers schools nationwide with the tools, training, resources, and funding they need to serve healthier food made with real ingredients. It is considered one of the leading non-profits in the school nutrition space and has been leading the charge for over 15 years.
This partnership is a natural extension of our mission to bring better meat and seafood to every table (including cafeteria tables!) and we're honored to support its work. To learn more about the partnership, click here.
And, as always, thank you for being here. We love seeing you all comment on and share this petition and are so glad to have you beside us on this journey.
