Hello & Happy New Year, Everyone!

I wanted to reach out and thank everyone for getting us over the 2.2K signatures mark despite the last few weeks being the all-too-busy holiday season. I hope you& yours had a relaxing and safe holiday time.

Coming up next week, there are two critical events that the community needs to attend if they can, as both pertain to the traffic crises here in North Surprise. I've created events in addition to any events created/published by the city on the Facebook page for the petition & website. I will link them below.

First event is Monday evening, 1/8, at 6pm for an investor or developer to rezone almost 32 acres by 155th Ave & Jomax. We need as many people in attendance there as possible as this rezoning meeting is in order for the property owner to rezone the area from R-2 (medium density housing) to R3 (high density housing). This will put more strain on 163rd & 147th Avenues to get access to the Loop 303. We need to show developers and the city we want absolutely NO FURTHER REZONING UNTIL INFRASTRUCTURE IS IN PLACE.

Second event is Tuesday evening, for Councilman Nick Haney's monthly constituent meeting. We need to continue to have as many folks in attendance to show that we still need real solutions and additional access points out of the neighborhoods here in North Surprise along 163rd Ave and Deer Valley Road, as well as other nearby communities. ADOT & the city need to understand that PARTIAL RESTRIPING IS NOT NEARLY ENOUGH TO RESOLVE THESE SAFETY CONCERNS.
