As a regular commuter on NSW Transport particularly Woy Woy to Sydney.
Daily I face the frustration of dealing with an unreliable service and poorly maintained intercity trains on the Central Coast to Sydney line (Newcastle Interchange) and the ongoing promise of the Mariyung fleet, to replace the old problematic trains. This is not just my story, but that of thousands of commuters who rely on this service for their daily commute.

The NSW transport system is integral in connecting people across regions. However, its current state leaves much to be desired. The frequency of issues and delays has been steadily increasing over time, causing significant inconvenience and daily stress among commuters.

According to Transport for NSW's own statistics, there were over 1,000 reported delays on this line alone last year (source: Transport for NSW Annual Report). This is unacceptable for a major public transport artery serving one of Australia's largest cities.

We understand that maintaining such a vast network can be challenging. However, regular maintenance checks and timely upgrades are essential in ensuring reliability and safety for all passengers.

We call upon NSW Transport to take immediate action - increase the reliability of services by conducting more frequent maintenance checks; upgrade the intercity trains servicing this route; and ensure that any issues are addressed promptly so as not to disrupt daily commutes.
