Your concern as well as all resident concerns about snow removal are valid especially after the recent East Coast storm that left Harrisburg with nearly 2 feet of accumulation.

Not all snowstorms are the same, and the type of snowfall significantly impacts how quickly and effectively streets can be cleared. Heavy wet packing snow, often caused by temperatures hovering near freezing is far more difficult to plow and can cause equipment clogging. Lighter, powdery snow driven by high winds creates drifting that repeatedly covers cleared roads. Ice layers from sleet or freezing rain further complicate treatment efforts and extend hazardous conditions. That said, residents deserve safe, passable streets in a timely manner, and their call for a more efficient and responsive snow removal strategy is of the utmost importance to me.

As a Councilwoman, I take these concerns seriously and will continue working toward improvements that enhance public safety accessibility, and preparedness for future winter storms.

Kind regards,
Crystal Davis
