I joined the Roblox community a bit later than others, driven by some initial reservations over the platform's security concerns, particularly with ongoing matters such as the Schlep situation. However, upon finally starting to enjoy myself in the game 'Forsaken,' I encountered a cycle that greatly diminished my enjoyment of this game that is fantastic on paper. Newer players, like myself, are often targeted and singled out by more experienced players, which ruins the fun and cultivates an unwelcoming environment. This is a phenomenon called 'Smurfing', although I can only assume the name was given due to the fact that Smurfs can sneak in through tight spaces.
Moreover, players who are genuinely skilled at the game get accused of hacking, further compounding the negativity and toxicity in the community. These false accusations take away from the joyful and competitive atmosphere initially intended. Even worse, real hackers are getting away scot-free due to the people being dead silent for some reason. I mean people, if you are going to point out non-hackers for hacking, how come real hackers get away with what they do? My brother once found a C00lK1DD spamming walkspeed override over and over again (despite it having a cooldown), and nobody did anything about it; not a single person reported them (run-on sentence to prove this was revised by a human)!
Additionally, Forsaken's current mechanic of dividing players based on whether they have played for over 24 hours is fundamentally flawed. Time spent on a game doesn’t always equate to skill level or experience. This dichotomy creates an unnecessary rift between players, fostering an unequal playing field and generating frustration among me and my brother. What I do find to be weird is this: why does nobody else seem to care, except for me(98%) and my brother(2%)?
Therefore, I propose that the developers implement measures to create a more inclusive and balanced gaming experience. Firstly, a system to better match players of similar skill levels could drastically improve the overall gaming environment. This adjustment would prevent new players from being unjustly targeted while also reducing false accusations of hacking against skilled players. Heck, they could implement a tutorial/test track with shorter time, easy-to-follow guidance (and bots, perhaps?), similar to that of Counter Strike.
Additionally, modifying in-game experiences by revising mechanics that currently disadvantage new arrivals would help bridge the gap between new and older players. Implementing features like a 'vote for next map' option in public servers would also enable players to devise strategies and enhance gameplay enjoyment. (And perhaps more customization with skins, such as a head from this skin and arms from that one?)
Creating a more welcoming and balanced Forsaken experience is something that will benefit the entire player community by encouraging better sportsmanship and camaraderie among players. Let’s bring about these necessary changes by urging the developers to listen to our concerns and act on them.
Please sign this petition to support the call for a more inclusive and fun gaming experience in 'Forsaken' for all players of all skill levels!
