I didn't see myself expecting to post something like this, but here we are.

Track 1 at Newport station exploded today.. and that's not figuratively. PATH service was almost completely suspended while this was handled as a "smoke condition" while flames were shooting up from the tracks, almost circling the trains. 9 were hospitalized.

This marks the 8th track fire since December of 2024.

Unacceptable and unbelievable.
