Hi all, SO enthusiastic to be typing here on this Monday midnight morning. 

I went out to uptown New York with the very unfortunate 33rd St line running through Hoboken (they were not kidding about speed restrictions, they were so slow that the train could barely get power from the 3rd rail), and returned home with the JSQ line running through Hoboken.

Now, we're getting much closer to our goal; a full closure of Hoboken station to address track & switch issues. A couple days ago, PATH announced the sudden closure of Hoboken's 1st and 2nd platforms for necessary repairs. While not satisfied, it was certainly a surprise and pleasure to see at least something in regards to a Hoboken station closure.

That was, until I pulled into Hoboken on my way home. I looked around, expecting workers, some sort of advisory at the front of the 1st and 2nd platforms, everything that says platform closure. Instead, I saw regular people, on the 1st and 2nd platforms, waiting for a train. Worth noting my 33rd St bound train also pulled into the 2nd and 3rd platforms.

I was shocked. Not furiously shocked, not verge of tears shocked, not stuck in place shocked, but a "So much for that bid" type of shock. I recently got another notification reminding passengers that Hoboken's 1st and 2nd platforms will be closed for repairs. And before you assume this is an overnight or weekend thing, while it was a weekend thing, PATH specifically mentioned a full closure of the 2 platforms from 12 AM, Saturday, August 2, 2025, to 5 AM, Monday, August 4, 2025. Clearly it wasn't closed, as people and trains were there.

Not only is PATH negligent with rider safety by not closing Hoboken station already, with planned delays through Labor Day, but now they are flat out LYING to riders. Gentle reminder that trains and platforms get packed on weekends because the money plebs at the Port Authority only operate trains every AT LEAST 10 minutes (HOB-33, 20 mins for NWK-WTC and JSQ-33vHOB).
