Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsport. Fans worldwide tune in to support their favorite teams and drivers, and immerse themselves in the thrilling experience that each race provides. However, many dedicated fans have expressed growing frustration with the current focus of F1 TV coverage, which often diverts attention from the race itself to show images of WAGs (wives and girlfriends of the drivers) in the stands or paddock.

This type of coverage detracts from the main event and undermines the dedication and skill of the drivers and teams who work tirelessly throughout the season. While it is interesting to get a glimpse of the personalities and lives surrounding the sport, this should not come at the cost of missing crucial moments in the race, including overtakes, pit stops, and the strategic decisions that can make or break a Grand Prix.

In addition, the current TV direction tends to disproportionately focus on the front runners, neglecting the competitive battles happening in the midfield and further down the grid. This narrow focus limits the audience’s understanding of the full race picture and undermines the depth of competition throughout the field. These moments are essential to the full story of a race, and fans deserve to see them.

We propose that F1 management and broadcasters improve their race coverage by prioritizing live on-track action across the grid, and minimizing cuts to the stands and reactions unless they provide pertinent context or enhance viewers’ understanding of the race dynamics. Camera switches should be meaningful and remain consistent with the sports action theme, ensuring that fans don't miss out on the core parts of what makes Formula 1 exhilarating.

Join us in calling on F1 TV to refocus its broadcast strategy to enhance the viewing experience for millions of fans around the world. Sign this petition to ensure that the true essence of Formula 1 – the speed, competition, and strategy – remains the highlight of each broadcast.
