The Issue

Stapleford is a vibrant community with a diverse population, but over time it has become increasingly isolated from essential services located outside of town. This has greatly affected residents who rely on public transport for their daily needs.

The current bus services connecting Stapleford to Beeston and the Toton Lane tramstop, namely the CT4N's no.18 and NCC's no.510 buses, are infrequent and at times unreliable, which leads to significant challenges for many, including the elderly and working professionals. These issues not only make life more difficult but also hinder economic opportunities, limit access to healthcare, and reduce the overall quality of life for the residents.

Statistics show that reliable public transportation is linked to enhanced economic prosperity and quality of life. According to a study by the Urban Institute, communities with inadequate public transportation often face higher unemployment rates and decreased access to essential services such as education and healthcare.

To resolve this issue, we at the Stapleford Assembly call on EMCCA to make the following improvements:

1. Increase the frequency of buses connecting Stapleford to Beeston and improve the shuttle bus services to the Toton Lane tramstop to ensure timely and reliable access.
2. Assess and realign bus routes based on the current travel patterns and needs of Stapleford residents.
3. Introduce newer, environmentally-friendly buses to reduce the carbon footprint and provide a modern transport option.
4. Implement a feedback system to regularly engage with the community and improve services based on their needs and suggestions.

Our local authorities, and in particular the EMCCA Mayor, have the power to make impactful changes that can help Stapleford thrive once again. By signing this petition, you are supporting a movement to bridge the gap that has left Stapleford residents feeling disconnected from the wider Nottingham area.

Let's work together to enhance our bus services and ensure Stapleford residents can access vital services without the hindrance of unreliable and inadequate transportation. Your signature can make a difference. Please sign this petition and help us bring positive change to Stapleford.
