Improve bus service BH29 for faster connections to Brighton

Improve bus service BH29 for faster connections to Brighton
The Issue
Living in the busy towns of Tunbridge Wells, Crowborough, and Uckfield, our connection to Brighton, a vibrant and essential hub for many of us, is mainly through the Brighton & Hove bus service, specifically route 29. However, the current setup of this bus route does not meet our needs due to its slow stopping service between Tunbridge Wells and Brighton's Churchill Square. The journey takes an excessive amount of time, affecting our daily lives and plans, diminishing our quality of life.
A more efficient travel option is not just a matter of convenience—it is essential for those who commute daily, whether for work, education, or personal reasons. The route majorly impacts residents in Crowborough and nearby areas who are dependent on public transport to reach Brighton promptly and with ease.
We propose modifying the 29 and 29X bus services to create a limited-stop route that runs half-hourly, stopping only at key locations: Tunbridge wells ,Eridge Green, Crowborough Cross,Whitehill Rose court, Uckfield Bus Station, Lewes school hill bottom, Falmer station and finally, Brighton Churchill Square. Times would be 7:07, 10.07, 14:07, 17:07 This modification could significantly reduce travel time, making it a viable alternative for those who currently find the journey burdensome.
Also Brighton and Hove buses currently don’t connect with southern service at uckfield railway station to meet connections with the train timetable and customer miss the trains and last train from uckfield, and more later evening buses leaving Brighton to Uckfield and Tunbridge wells Monday to Saturday
The benefits of this change will be widespread, enabling quicker commutes, enhancing productivity, reducing stress, and encouraging more people to use public transport. These changes will not only make a considerable difference in our daily routines but will also contribute to reducing the carbon footprint, as more people will likely opt for a faster and more efficient public transport option.
We understand the potential challenges in making these changes but emphasise the long-term benefits for residents and the environment. We urge Brighton & Hove Buses to consider this proposal earnestly and work with us to improve the transport links between our communities to Brighton.
Sign this petition to join us in advocating for a more efficient and timely public transit service, ensuring our towns are well connected to the opportunities Brighton offers without the unnecessary travel delays we currently face. Your support is crucial in making this vital change possible.
