Improve Accessibility to Shared Care for Individuals Diagnosed with ADHD
The Issue
As a person diagnosed with ADHD, I, like many others, have been denied a crucial shared care agreement by my GP- a situation which urgently needs to change. ADHD affects many adults millions in fact and research suggests 80% haven’t even had a diagnosis yet. Meaning that potentially million of people are being denied access to critically needed shared care arrangements. The NHS and right to choose pathway, which is provided by the NHS, indicates that treatment should be universally accessible. However, it's clear that this is not the reality for many.
Variability in treatment and shared care access for those with ADHD is a pressing concern and serves as an obstacle to the health and wellbeing of individuals like me. Therefore, we need immediate steps to address this issue at all levels.
We urge health authorities, regulators, policy makers, and healthcare providers to revisit and revise their policies in order to facilitate equal access to shared care for all individuals diagnosed with ADHD. Let’s stand up for the equal healthcare rights of ADHD sufferers! Please sign this petition and join us in making a difference.
