My sister had a stroke that has impacted her mobility. Shopping, an activity we both enjoyed and found therapeutic, became a challenge due to her struggle with balance and movement. Being unable to ride the electric carts in the grocery store further complicates things. We are not alone in this situation. Almost 14% of people in the United States have mobility issues, and this figure includes older children and adults who cannot be accommodated by the typical child-seating options in grocery carts (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2020).
