In communities and reserves all across Canada, First Nations, Metis and Inuit people have inferior access to clean water compared to other Canadians. Drinking, cooking and bathing with their water can cause severe illnesses and rashes. This issue needs to be addressed by the government as they made these reserves for Indigenous people so they are responsible for their well-being and human rights. If no change occurs, these Indigenous people who already face so much discrimination in our society will continue to live without the basic human rights that every Canadian should have access to. The Canadian government has constantly ignored their responsibilities and promises to improve clean water for Indigenous people and it's time to take action and demand change. Many communities have lived without clean water for decades, so the time to act is now. We need to push to get our liberal government to fulfill their promises and end all boil water advisories by 2025.
