Petition updateImported Honey to be banned ...Thank you settlement reached.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my legal defence against the corporation Capilano (now known as “Hive and Wellness”). Literally thousands of people have contributed to this outcome which we have been striving for.

After 5 years it’s finally over…Capilano have withdrawn their claim that I defamed them and are no longer suing me in the Supreme Court.

I’m pleased that Capilano have now retired their Allowrie branded honey blend and have given the public this commitment via their website.

As a sole parent, this time has been an emotionally and a financially trying one. I can now focus on my son Oscar and invest my energy on other projects to help bees and beekeepers. I have not received a payout and still owe money to lawyers.

People who followed my journey understand my issue was not with the honey Australian beekeepers supply but mostly about imported honey coming from China. Australian honey is the highest quality in the world because we have access to pristine forests and we don’t have Varroa mite and our beekeepers do not use miticides.

Since the recent devastating Australian bushfires my focus has been to use my network to help support affected beekeepers and bees. Thanks to overwhelming public generosity together we have raised over $50000 and distributed over $48000 to many fire affected beekeepers.

I particularly appreciate the efforts of Ana and Sven from www.amberdrophoney.com.au who set up the GoFundMe page and, despite having lost hives to the fires and floods themselves, did not accept any donation instead passing funds on to others beekeepers who are suffering.

I am proud that I have helped create the honeymap and more people are buying local honey.

Please continue to support your local beekeepers.

Thanks the lawyers who worked on the case a special thanks to lawyer Jeremy Pytel who finally facilitated the settlement.

If anyone would like to read the various expensive judgements over five years of litigation I have attached them below.

Within the judgements you can read that I was refused a jury trial and the NMR testing conducted in Germany was not admissible in this case.

I think it is unfortunate the government haven’t listened to the over 200000 people who have signed this petition for country of origin to be compulsory on honey label.

I will continue to fight for this.
