There is a really great pristine honeyflow happening in some places in Southern Australia at the moment.
Savethebeesaustralia has been informed that the major packers have told some beekeepers they will not buy anymore honey.
Some beekeepers think this is a trick to force the low price of $5 down. One beekeeper complained that prices may go down to $3.50 a kilogram and explained when cheap imports from China are flooding the market at $2 kilograms it was easy and common for packers who import honey to play games to force down prices.
There is no question about the high quality of this honey. The mallee honey is Eucalyptus honey a long way from agricultural chemicals.
John Edmonds from Edmonds honey has been campaigning for decades to get imported honey banned. John has a policy to always pay more
than the major packers for honey. Please particularly if you are in a position to buy bulk honey, contact John Edmonds on +61 412 735 179 .
Other smaller packers around Australia that don’t import honey that may be interested in buying Australian honey at a fair price are
